From brand strategy and communications to consumer research, my career has evolved from client-side in house roles to agency positions and start up teams, ultimately leading to consulting.  This context affords me a uniquely informed perspective.  I have an appreciation for what it means to engage an external partner, and all that dynamic entails.  Conversely, I understand the intricacies of navigating internal teams as a primary stakeholder and executive team member.

Above all, I strive to tell stories that make people genuinely care and take action.

Consulting for a variety of consumer and B2B brands allows me to apply cross-industry best practices that deliver stand out creativity and efficiency.  I’m often engaged to extend bandwidth or to bring in specialized expertise. More broadly, the consultant role also gives me a bird’s eye view to provide fresh perspective as brands face the inevitable challenges of echo-chamber thinking and political distractions from within their respective companies and industries.

My career began in entertainment marketing, first at Warner Bros and then at 20th Century Fox.  From there, I entered the heyday of early 2000’s internet culture at Digital Entertainment Network (>EN) in time to weather the meteoric rise and infamous burst of the tech bubble.  The agency chapter brought me to the global PR firm Hill & Knowlton, where I conceived and implemented award-winning domestic and international product launches and consumer marketing initiatives.

After a productive stretch at a boutique firm specializing in the fashion & beauty industry, I took on a leadership role at a brand strategy and trendspotting shop.  There, I created cohesive consumer-insight driven marketing and product development strategies for a diverse mix of Fortune 500 clients including Volkswagen, Audi, Neutrogena, Levi, HP, Sony, Microsoft, Virgin Mobile, Toyota, Scion, Telemundo, Kellogg, Colgate-Palmolive and Unilever.

Shifting back into consumer tech, I joined several consecutive start up teams including Ripple (media), Lunch (UGC), Trippy (social travel), JibJab Bros Studios (entertainment) and StoryBots (early education) – which ranged from early to mid-stage.  I have been deeply immersed in everything from finding product-market fit and building strategic partnerships, to developing social media strategy, pitching investors, and launching on stage at TechCrunch Disrupt.  As a result, I’ve become well versed in the unique set of challenges facing brands throughout the journey from inception to pivots and refresh, into growth stages.

The years I’ve spent creating brand culture, innovative solutions and evolving brands through consumer insights have led me to craft initiatives focused on relevance and authenticity.  I am committed to making sure every effort translates to tangible outcomes for key business objectives. Above all, I strive to tell stories that make people genuinely care and take action.
